Dr. Trent Stansbury joined Kennedy Dentistry in March 2015. While he claims Johnson City, TN as home, he had the unique privilege of living all over the world in his youth. His father, a retired Army aviator who flew the UH-60 Black Hawk and UH-1 Huey helicopters, was stationed overseas in Heidelberg, Germany and Singapore, Singapore during his childhood. These experiences gave him a lot of insight into different cultures, ideals, and experiences. After his father’s retirement from the Army in 1995, his family retired to Johnson City, where Dr. Stansbury attended Science Hill High School and graduated as salutatorian.
He then attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology, graduating summa cum laude. He obtained his DDS from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, after which he participated in a general dentistry residency program at UT Medical Center. During the residency, he furthered his clinical skills in dentistry while receiving advanced training in dental implants, implant restoration, rehabilitation of complex cases, and treatment of compromised individuals in an OR setting.
After his residency, Dr. Stansbury worked for six years in a Kingston general dentistry practice with a focus on both adult and pediatric dental care. He is comfortable with and enjoys working on children of all ages. Each year he commits countless hours expanding his dental knowledge through continuing education courses across the country.
In his free time, he enjoys almost anything outdoors, especially hiking, snow skiing, and water skiing. He married his high school prom date, Tabitha. They are raising two beautiful children, Taylor and Trevor.
